Are Somerset Bookkeeping registered?


Yes, we are registered BAS agents with the Tax Practitioners Board



Are Somerset Bookkeeping qualified?


Yes, we are fully qualified. Please see our about us page for details on our team.



What software do we work with?


Somerset Bookkeeping use all major accounting software including:


  • Xero | Certified
  • Quickbooks Online | Certified Pro Advisor
  • MYOB Account Right (AR)


Our team also leverages the following software/add-ons:


  • Practise Protect – data security
  • Hubdoc – document management
  • XBert – risk management
  • Float – cashflow forecasting & budgeting
  • Deputy – payroll
  • Employment Hero - payroll
  • Karbon - workflow management
  • Zoom – video conferencing


We choose software that is the best solution for your business. Otherwise if you have a personal preference, we can do that too.



Where is the work done?


We offer online bookkeeping services. We do the work in our office and not yours.


However, we do love to see our clients from time to time at their business, or ours by request. Our office is in Dysart Queensland.


We also, often meet clients via the video conferencing application Zoom. We can do virtual cash flow meetings.



What’s is the scope of work available?

Unfortunately, we do not offer:


  • Tax returns
  • Training for your team, unless by special request
  • Onsite bookkeeping (remote only, however occasional meetings are available)



How we can save your business accounting fees?


We can save you on accounting costs by producing accurate books.



How much are the bookkeeping services?


We offer a free consultation and discovery session. This allows us to determine the strategy and appropriate costing for the work.


We don’t hide behind a monthly plan for our bookkeeping services fees. Instead we charge an accountable appropriate rate.


If you like, we can offer fixed prices after working together for 3 months.

How do we protect your data?


We uses Practice Protect to store our internet login information securely and privately.


We take our obligations to you seriously. Making sure to always secure your personal information. We do not disclosed to unauthorised entities or use for unauthorised purposes.


We will make sure you are aware of any data breach, so you can take appropriate actions to protect yourself.


How and when do we communicate with our clients?


  • Email (is preferred and is always actioned within 24 hours)
  • Phone (between the hours of 9am-2.30pm Monday to Thursday). If our team happens to be busy during this time, then please leave a message. Steph will then return your call as soon as possible.
  • SMS (if urgent or by arrangement)



How do we stay on top of the work?


We are highly organised team who leverage the workflow management tool Karbon. We guarantee our client’s work is on time.


Who owns the accounting packages?


If we use client’s accounting and document management software, then the ownership of the file remains with the client.


The exception to this is the Xero partner only Cash Book and Ledger files. That is because it cannot be purchased directly by the customer. If your business requires this software subscription, it will be on charged as part of the package. There may be a license removal fee, at completion/termination of our services.


What we require to do the work?


We require all paperwork for your business expenses. This means all bills and receipts. We also need bank statements for all business accounts quarterly.
